My name is Happiness Chinembiri, and I'm the Professional services and DC intern. I'm really enjoying my internship because there is a lot of breadth in what I'm learning, and the fact that I'm able to ask questions to anyone and they are more than happy to help. I completely did not know what to expect coming into the pensions world, but I've learned a lot more than I thought I would.
My first few days were really great, as I had planned different meetings with people all across the business, so I got to meet people and find out a little bit more about how the business as a whole works, which is really helpful. My favourite thing about my internship so far has got to be the breadth of what I'm doing.
On the DC side, I've been looking at Digitalising the member experience, which has been really interesting, figuring out what that looks like and how to put that into practice and just looking at that every day. How can we can improve our offering for members and employers. There are no two days the same. I'm learning so much each and every single day and lots of different projects that I'm involved in, which is a lot of fun.
One of the biggest challenges I had when I first started was just feeling overwhelmed with how much I had to learn, and just how to network and manage my workload, things like that. But after speaking to my team lead manager about it, he gave me a few tips and helped me set up a few meetings to help my networking opportunities.
It's just the little things that really make TPT a great place to work. It has helped me gain a lot of perspective about the working world. I'd say I'm a lot more open minded and optimistic about what it is I can do. To anyone who's considering applying, I'd really recommend it because I've really enjoyed myself and it's been a great experience.
