I'm Ninora Mahottige and I'm an investment intern at TPTIM. At TPT I work on the investment team where I help with portfolio management, analysing different investments and the markets and also helping with projects across the team.

I'm really enjoying the experience so far. I've been able to work on many different projects and help build my understanding of the markets. When I was looking at internships, one of the main factors that I considered was building my understanding of different asset classes and I definitely have found this to be true at TPT. I've understood a lot more about equities, infrastructure and bonds as TPTIM invests across these asset classes.

Across my first few days at TPT, I met with several members of the team across the investment team and the operations team. and I was also given a large amount of support with getting familiar with the different software we use and getting up to speed with training.

Throughout the internship, I worked on multiple projects, which is what I expected, but I was also given the opportunity to run my own project, which was really great. So during my first month, I found that it took me some time to get familiar with the investment management software, but after a large level of support from my manager, I was able to get to grips with it. So I've gained a lot of technical and soft skills, some of the technical skills around my understanding of the financial markets, but also soft skills such as presenting. On my project, I was required to present to the whole team.

My favorite part of the role is probably attending annual manager review meetings, as I could see exactly what we invest in. I remember specifically seeing a wind farm project, which was really great to see the size and scale of our investments. So across my internship I was able to work with multiple different asset classes and found a strong preference for equities and infrastructure. So the main impact would be guiding my career in that direction and focusing on my interest in those areas.

I definitely recommend an internship at TPT to anyone considering applying as I was given a large amount of responsibility and felt like a valued member of the team.
