1. Introduction

We use tracking technologies such as cookies, scripts, tags and pixels, which we collectively refer to as “cookies” in this Cookie Policy on our Websites, Portals, Platforms, Online applications or Apps (“Online Services”).

We use cookies to ensure that our Online Services work properly. We also like to use cookies to distinguish you from other users, improve and personalise your visit to our Online Services, understand how you use our Online Services and for our advertising purposes.

This Cookie Policy describes how Verity Trustees Limited (the “Trustee”) (as trustee of the Pensions Trust or Pensions Trust 2016 (“the Pension Trusts”) and its subsidiary companies TPT Retirement Solutions Limited and TPT Investment Management Limited (together “we”, “our” or “us”)  uses cookies. This Cookie Policy should be read in conjunction with our privacy policies.

2. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your computer or device when you visit our online services. Cookies are useful because they allow the Online Service to recognise your visit, collect information about your use of that website and to provide you with a more personalised experience. Cookies contain information that is transferred to your device's hard drive (or random access memory in the case of session cookies) and some cookies may collect personal data about you.

You can find out about the different types of cookies used on our Online Services below. You should be aware that refusing some types of cookies may impact your experience of our Online Services.

3. Our use of cookies

Some cookies are needed to make our Online Services work and can’t be turned off. Others are optional and you can change your preferences. The cookies used by us fall into the following categories:

1. Strictly necessary cookies

A strictly necessary (also called essential) cookie is a type of cookie that is used by our Online Services to function properly without which they would not work. This type of cookie does not collect any personally identifiable information about you and does not track your browsing habits.

Strictly necessary cookies are classified as cookies that must be present to provide the basic functions of our Online Services. These cookies are essential in order to enable a user to move around our Online Services and use their features, such as accessing secure areas. Without these cookies, a user could not perform basic functions or services they have asked for.

As their name suggests, strictly necessary cookies cannot be deselected and, by continuing to use our Online Services, you are expressly consenting to the use of these cookies.

2. Performance cookies

Performance (also called analytics cookies) collect information about how you use our Online Services – for example, which pages you visit and if you experience any errors. These cookies do not collect any information that could identify you. All information collected is anonymous and is used to help us improve your experience.

3. Functionality cookies

Functionality cookies allow our Online Services to remember choices users make (such as username and passwords) and provide enhanced, more personal features. They are generally there to support site functionality that is visible or advantageous to the user or their experience of the site.

This includes elements of remembering a user on subsequent visits to a website and personalising what they see, and enhanced functionality like surveys, commenting and rating systems, and user preferences.
They are used to provide other services such as our online tools and modellers and certain navigation elements of the portals and app that enhance your browsing experience.

4. Targeting cookies

Targeting cookies are used to deliver adverts more relevant to you and your interests when you have visited our services webpages. They are also used to limit the number of times you see an advert as well as help measure the effectiveness of the advertising campaign.

We use targeting cookies so that we may deliver advertising to you after you have left our site. We work with third parties who may place cookies on your web browser to enable us (and other advertisers) to provide you with adverts based on your activity on our websites.

4. How long are cookies saved for?

This depends on whether they are session cookies or persistent cookies.

Session cookies delete themselves once you close your browser. Session cookies can help with security, and also remember what you’ve done on previous web pages so you don’t have to re-enter information.

Persistent cookies stay on your device after you close your browser until they expire. They’re used for lots of different things – one example is remembering your cookie preferences between visits, so you don’t need to keep telling us which cookies to use.

Please refer to the Cookie list for details on when each individual cookie expires.

5. Use of cookies by third parties

We use both first and third-party cookies.

First-party cookies - these cookies are created by our company. They are stored and sent between our servers and your computer’s hard drive. These cookies may be either Session or Persistent cookies.

Third-party cookies - third parties may also use cookies. These third parties may include, for example, advertising networks and providers of external services like web traffic analysis services. A list of third parties we work with in relation to cookies can be found here along with the details on each individual cookie and why we use it on the Cookie list.

6. Third Party Websites

The Member Portals and TPT App may link through to third party websites that may also use cookies which we don’t control. We recommend that you check the privacy and cookie policies of those websites for information about the cookies they may use and the collection of personal data. We can’t accept any responsibility for any content contained in these third party websites.

7. How can you change your cookie settings?

On first visit to our Online Services you are presented with a Cookie Consent Banner, you can choose to 'Accept all' cookies or you can choose which cookies you want to agree to use by selecting 'Manage cookies' or you can choose to 'Decline all' cookies. If you do not consent to the use of non-essential cookies, you may continue to browse our site but certain functionalities will not be available to you.

You can change your cookie preferences at any time via the Cookie Consent banner which can be opened by clicking on the ‘COOKIE SETTINGS’ button at the bottom of our websites.

Sometimes, the use of cookies can also be prevented by changing your internet browser settings. We do not take any responsibility for the effects on your use of our websites should you decide to disable cookies in this way.
