TPT Investment Management appoints Vanessa Poon as Investment Risk Manager

TPT Investment Management (TPTIM), the fiduciary management arm of TPT Retirement Solutions Group, has hired Vanessa Poon as an Investment Risk Manager.

In her role, Vanessa will be responsible for the development, implementation, and evolution of TPTIM’s Investment Risk Framework. This will include oversight of all systems and processes related to the investment risk function, including risk modelling and analysis, as well as reporting to key stakeholders. She will also provide risk analysis to support TPTIM’s investment strategy, contributing to the delivery of clients’ investment objectives. Vanessa will report to Peter Smith, Investment Director at TPTIM.

Vanessa brings deep expertise in investment risk to her role, with nearly a decade of industry experience in investment risk roles. Prior to joining TPTIM, Vanessa served as an Investment Risk Analyst at Columbia Threadneedle Investments, where she led the development of the LDI and UK Fiduciary investment risk framework and advised on regulatory risk practices.

Before that, she spent over three years at Premier Miton Investors, focusing on fund liquidity, stress testing, and regulatory compliance. Vanessa began her career in Credit Risk at Investec. Vanessa is a CFA Charter holder with additional certification in ESG Investing.

Vanessa joins TPTIM after the business recently launched a series of new collective investment vehicles, designed to offer schemes easy access to a wide range of investment strategies. These funds enable pension schemes joining TPT to immediately achieve scale benefits across asset classes by aggregating the assets in the master trust. This approach enables TPTIM to build on the successful model of scheme consolidation – pooling assets to deliver value and impact – to the benefit of pension schemes and their members.
