TPT deploys Moody’s PFaroe solution to support new CDC modelling capability
TPT has today announced the launch of new collective defined contribution (CDC) modelling, capability powered by Moody’s PFaroe software. Moody’s is a leading provider of risk data, intelligence, and analytical tools.
This has been delivered by new functionality within Moody’s suite of PFaroe software tools, which provide portfolio analytics and risk management capabilities for defined benefit (DB) pension plans, consultants, and investment managers.
The new functionality is among the first of its kind, designed specifically for CDC schemes. It builds on Moody’s widely used valuation system for DB schemes and is designed to support the distinct requirements of CDC schemes. As well as standard valuation modelling, the software includes forward-looking modelling to predict potential pension increases for members, which is expected to be critical for CDC schemes, both during the authorisation process and once operational. The tool’s ability to carry out asset liability modelling will provide important support to help CDC entrants come to market and manage their investment strategy once up and running.
The new solution also helps scheme operations and efficiency, as the system can be used by the schemes’ in-house actuaries and investment managers, as well as other external trustee advisers, including the Scheme Actuary.
The collaboration comes as TPT prepares to launch the UK’s first multi-employer CDC scheme, with the tool helping schemes meet some of the key requirements for regulatory authorisation. Pending regulatory authorisations, TPT will have six different consolidation vehicles, making it a clear industry leader and standout pioneer of pension solution development.
Paul Eagles, Head of CDC at TPT Retirement Solutions, said:
“We are excited to partner with Moody’s to develop and deploy its new solution to help bring CDC pensions to the UK. As multi-employer CDC represents new territory for regulators, the industry and, most importantly, members, creating a robust scheme design is critical for the success of the scheme –modelling capabilities like this will play a vital role.”
Simon Robinson, Senior Director – Product Manager at Moody’s said:
“We are committed to delivering sophisticated risk management solutions across the UK pensions landscape and are pleased to develop PFaroe for CDC schemes. The flexibility of our software and ability to connect with our clients will be important in meeting the evolving needs of CDC as it grows in the UK.”
