Your investments in action: The Grange Wind Farm
Find out how your pension investments help to power 10,000 homes in Lincolnshire with renewable energy.
At TPT we take a responsible approach to investing, which means that environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors are considered as part of our investment decision-making and selection process.
For example, we’ll consider things like climate change and human rights when we decide how and where to invest our members’ funds. We also engage with the wider investment community by joining groups and connecting with organisations that want to invest in a way that promotes positive ESG practices, while seeking the best outcomes for our members.
All of our investment funds, including our default Target Date Fund (TDF), take these considerations into account as part of their investment strategy, with your pension investments supporting a wide variety of projects that make a real difference, while also supporting your retirement.
So what does this actually look like in action?
A great example of this is The Grange Wind Farm, in Lincolnshire. This wind farm has been fully operational since 2013, and its seven turbines can generate up to 14 MW of clean, green electricity every year. That’s enough renewable energy to power more than 10,000 homes – or more than a quarter of the homes in the South Holland district where the wind farm is based.
The Grange Wind Farm also offers financial support to local projects through its Community Benefit Fund, providing £28,000 a year to local projects that contribute to the wellbeing of the area and have a particular educational, environmental and social emphasis.
This demonstrates the positive impact that responsible investment opportunities can create for our members, the environment and local communities. It’s just one example of our climate policy in action, and how investing your money, helps support UK infrastructure.

If you’d like to take an even more hands-on approach to ethical investing with TPT, you can choose where some, or all, of your pension is invested from our range of self-select funds. Several of these funds, such as our Ethical Global Equity Fund and our Global Impact Bond Fund, include a focus on ESG, helping you to ensure that your pension savings work towards a brighter future, not only for your retirement, but also for the wider world.
